MHL provides students support in the area of recording, new media and sound amplification in a variety of studio and media rooms and on stages. Outstanding student performances and special musical offerings of the university are documented and published upon request on the university's own sound carriers. The goal: students gain practical experience in the making of sound recordings and musical productions, and learn to make their own recordings. In addition, the MHL studio offers teaching events in the areas of audio engineering, sound amplification and multimedia. Students of composition class develop their own compositions in the electronic studio and perform them at concerts. MHL also supports the production of demos for applications or competitions. The large recording studio is specialized in classical and acoustic music. Thanks to the connection to the two concert halls, a whole range of music types can be achieved in a "natural acoustic" environment. Both classical music and jazz is recorded here. The Pop Studio has several recording rooms. A line of sight around the control room provides optimal conditions for pop and rock recordings. The Electronic Studio is designed as an experimental studio. Along with modern computers and consoles there are also exotic devices and dinosaurs of the synthesizer technology from the beginnings of electronic music in the studio. The PC pool has several Macs and PCs with the latest multimedia features. Apart from lessons for new media and software, students can also work comfortably on their own.
