Strings - Harp
The Master of Music Instrumental degree programme is designed for musicians with outstanding musical talent who have already developed their instrumental skills to a high standard of quality within the scope of a bachelor degree.
Students are also expected to have acquired knowledge and abilities extending well beyond the basics in the subjects of music theory and musicology. Focus is therefore clearly centred on the respective major without neglecting the aforestated subjects. The ultimate objective is professionalisation within the artistic discipline. In addition to superlative technical ability, the aim is to attain comprehensive knowledge of the respective repertoire, which incorporates all epochs and is not merely limited to the solo repertoire. Interaction within the ensemble is specifically a central component of the MHL master degree, not only promoting artistic ability but also personal development on a social level.
Upon completing the degree programme, students will be in a position to autonomously embrace music of all eras and create and present independent interpretations.
To also enhance employability in traditional professions, such as orchestra musician, the commensurate repertoire elements should be mastered to a particularly high level and, where possible, supplemented by individual specialisation. In any event, graduates should be capable of successfully performing auditions for orchestra positions.
