Additional requirements are fundamental knowledge of music theory and basic piano skills. These study requirements are to be demonstrated at an audition.
In addition to the standard main modules and following conclusion of additional compulsory modules, as of the fifth semester students will select a profile focusing on individual musical practice, instrumental training or musicology.
The entire study period is characterised by public presentations of artistic learning achievements in regular recitals in the MHL halls. Student chamber music ensembles are regularly coached by a number of lecturers and consequently partake in interdisciplinary discourse.
In joint projects involving instrumental classes with musicologists and music theorists, students combine their instrumental practice and theoretical fundamentals within music tuition concepts.
Regular offers of master classes serve to ensure artistic exchange with external experts.
