International Buxtehude Organ Competition

Every three years, the MHL organises the International Buxtehude Organ Competition together with other cultural institutions. Up to 20 participants from all over the world compete in three rounds in front of an international jury on organs in Hamburg and 明升m88体育_明升体育官网-在线|平台 - including the famous Stellwagen organ in St Jakobie in 明升m88体育_明升体育官网-在线|平台. The following prizes can be awarded thanks to the kind support of renowned foundations from northern Germany:

Prizes
1st prize: 8,000 euros
2nd prize: 5,000 euros
3rd prize: 3,000 euros

Application deadline
The next International Buxtehude Organ Competition will take place in autumn 2026. Information from autumn 2025 here.
